Name: Jamie Witt

Role: Director

Responsibilities:

From starting out as a "Man in a van", the J W Waste Recycling company has come leaps and bounds since 2009. Through this time I have learnt almost everything there is to know about the waste industry. I got to realise just how bad other waste companies were and this was the main driver behind starting up a local, friendly, company that people could rely on.I enjoy the challenge of overcoming the difficulties that being in waste can sometimes bring.

In my spare time I enjoy swimming, cycling and I try to lead as healthy lifestyle as I can.

Name: Emma Witt

Role: Finance & Accounts

Responsibilities:

I started with J W Waste & Recycling in 2009, when the director Jamie Witt (yes, you've spotted it, Jamie also happens to be my brother) asked me to help with the accounts of the business. I prepare all the accounting work for J W Waste and play a lead role in the preparation of financial statements, tax returns and related reports and schedules to support financial reports to the director.

From starting the office in Jamie’s flat on and old computer to where we are now, we have come a long way. I have extensive experience in small business accounting and waste management. My off-the-job interests include reading, eating out with friends and dancing.

Name: Peter Lister

Role: Fleet / Sales Manager

Responsibilities:

I came to J W Waste Recycling in 2015, bringing with me over 13 years’ experience in corporate retail sales. This was gained in two main areas, one being high value custom installations and the other being FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods). During that time I learnt the real value of any company is in the great client relationships it can build and develop within it's customer base.

As you'd expect in family run business such as J W Waste Recycling, our customers are at the heart of what we do, and wherever possible we will try to accommodate their needs and requirements.

Working for J W Waste Recycling and with the rest of the team is extremely rewarding. Its great knowing that I can make a difference in helping all of our customers recycle. I stay involved in all aspects of the business, from tipping the rubbish that our customers dispose of, to organising collection routes to be as efficient and economical as we can make them. Such savings enable us to keep our services, such as bin collection, skip hire and recycling services priced as competitively as possible.

I regularly enjoy a day out at the 'sharp end' doing a collection round to meet our customers, and ensure we are fulfilling their needs and meeting their expectations.

I have 3 children and 2 dogs, which ensures my leisure time is kept active and reminds me, that through effective waste handling and recycling, that the world we have today, will also be here for own children tomorrow.

Name: Jodi Witt

Role: Admin assistant

Responsibilities:

I am the directors’ daughter and have been working full time at JW Waste Recycling since 2016. Although I haven’t worked here for very long, I have always been a part of the business. When I was younger I used to get up in the early hours with my Dad and go out on the road with him! I have seen how much the business has changed, and progressed throughout the years, I’m glad to be able to be a part of such a great organisation.

I am currently doing a Business NVQ Level 2 apprenticeship, I am so happy to be able to be a part of the business, to be able to work with my family and to grow with the business! The business has helped me grow in my career and I’m so proud to be a part of a company where we help our customers to recycle, and to make the world a better place!

My role in the office means I deal with almost every customer call, and direct them to the person best able to help them, whether the call may be to do with skip hire, bin collections, general enquires or accounts and billing. I also deal with preparing and processing customers service contracts for J W Waste Recycling, along with the issue of waste transfer notes for bin collections. As my role means on a daily basis, I'm dealing with, and listening to our customers and potential customers, this puts me in a great position to help develop new ideas to help our clients, and the business progress. I am also learning new skills and exercising my current ones working at J W Waste Recycling, and as my apprenticeship continues I will be progressing onto new responsibilities within the company, which I'm looking forward to.

I love to travel a lot and in my spare time I enjoy Yoga, reading and spending time with loved ones!

Role: Admin Assistant

Responsibilities:

I am the directors’ eldest daughter and I have been working here since I left school. During this time I have successfully completed Business and Admin NVQ levels 2 & 3. It amazes me looking back at how it used to be here. I remember once staying in Dads caravan and having to jump over this large gap to get to his office. Crazy really, would never do it now but back then we were kids.

I enjoy going to the gym, nights out with friends and I love walking my dog, she will also often come to work with me.

Name: Ricki Weatherall

Role: Workshop and Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities:

I've been working in the waste and recycling industry for as long as I can remember. I brought a lifetime of knowledge in my profession to J W Waste Recycling, gained from working in some of the largest and most well known players in the sector. I've used these skills and abilities to enable J W Waste Recycling to grow even further and ensure that our customers get the best from us.

Due to the nature of our heavy and potentially dangerous machinery and equipment, it's my role to ensure we keep to our schedule, operate efficiently and legally, but above all that our plant and vehicles provide the safest operation for our staff, customers and members of the public. We do this through a planned, and a prompt reactive maintenance environment.

From small bailers and sorters to our 8 wheel, waste collection, bin emptying and skip carrying LGV fleet, I ensure it all runs as expected. When breakdowns or damage does occur, I ensure any disruption is kept to the absolute minimum for our customers.
